Halloween would not be complete without… A CONTEST! WHOOOOOOO!!! Now presenting: The Poptropica Help Blog’s Second Annual Halloween Costume Contest!!

So here’s how it’ll go! The judges (Enclosed Lightning, Hijuyo, Shaggy Tornado, and Zey-shomi) will evaluate every entry and decide on 3 top winners. Winners will be announced on October 31st – HALLOWEEN! May the best spooks win!

[IMPORTANT] Rules
Please make sure you meet all requirements or your entry may be disqualified.

  1. To enter, post your Poptropica username in a comment below.
  2. Your objective is to dress your character up in the coolest, scariest, most amazing Halloween Poptropica costume ever!
  3. One entry per person only.
  4. Be original! Do not copy someone else’s costume and pass it off as your own.
  5. You can use Poptropica Store items. If you are using a costume-type item, please do not just Costumize the entire thing. Mixing and matching is recommended.
  6. No hacks allowed. (Eg. MAP, for those of you with access to it. iCostume parts are fine, but do not copy the entire costume.)
  7. Anyone can enter [except the judges], so be sure to tell your friends to join!
  8. Contest lasts until October 16 9. Winners will be announced on October 31st.

    1. Nothing matches. Colors clash. The greens glow makes it harder to look at it and what is up with the pegleg and the reindeer antlers with the reindeer nose? Overall, I give it 2 thumbs down.

    2. I like the randomness but I would add something green to it. I just feel it needs something glowing green.

    3. I disagree w/ Zey! (sry zey! :P) The colors don’t really clash, except for maybe the blue and purple against black. The rest of the clothes, except for the nose, antlers, tail, and pegleg, make you look like a robot. Very creative! 😀

    1. Too simple. Add some more to it and it’ll look nice, but try and mix up things that look nice together, but don’t let the colors clash, that’s what I really don’t like and don’t clutter it with random items.

    2. I would love it if it had some sort of clown nose, reindeer nose, cat nose, etc., in the middle of the face. That is, if its not possible, then add goggles. I think your idea is pretty nice, just a bit plain.

    Enclosed Lightning-Yes, just don’t use all of the costume.

    1. Eh….this one is hard to find what’s wrong and what’s good. It’s like in the middle. The face doesn’t look right with the shirt, or you can change the shirt to something that matches. The sword…yeah….nvm. You should change the color of the hair to something that doesn’t clash.

    1. Pretty nice. It’s better than a bunch of the costumes here, but not the best. The colors don’t clash, but the wings are what bug me. But great job on it.

  11. i think the answer to the riddle is the archeopteryx since it was a reptile/bird and it flew with wings which is a bird (lack of words) vehicle for moving other than its legs

      1. Okay, critism time. It’s really nice, but you could’ve made the face like…white-ish, and the hair black, but the crown does not fit, no point of it being there. Don’t be sad if you think I was mean, real winners take critism well. 😀

    2. Critism time. No creativity at all. Don’t be mad at me. It’s just one simple costume that you could’ve copied from the Haunted House. Take this into consideration. Don’t cry over me being a critic. People who take critism well are a-okay. 😀

    3. Well, I like it. It vaguely reminds me of Prince of Persia. Vaguely. Plus, I didn’t see that at Haunted House. But she should hold something— like a pizza!

    1. It’s a nice costume. But maybe you can change the color of the small patch of hair on the top. Good job on the costume. 😀

    1. Um, no point of any of this. Colors clash and there’s no point of the lightning staff. And nothing makes sense in this.

    1. Wow. It’s nice, it looks sort of like a detective and it matches. Though if you WERE going for a detective look, you could’ve used the flashlight, unless it’s gone by now.

  43. hey… um, just wondering, is using iCostume cheating?

    Hijuyo: You can use parts of an iCostume, but to enter the entire costume would be unoriginal, so that would be like cheating.

    1. Hmm…it’s sorta….weird all together. Some of the colors clash, but some fit. But the items don’t really fit. And the bamboo stick doesn’t make sense, but oh well. It’s sort of a so-so from me.

  46. i remember the good old days of the phb contests when you didn’t have to sign up for a website or subscribe to a bunch of people to win

    Hijuyo: You don’t HAVE to sign up/subscribe to anything, with the exception of Poptropica. These are simply extras you can do to increase your chances of winning, but it is still possible to win without doing them.

    1. forgive me for arguing but how many people that haven’t signed up for anything have won a spot in these contests as a majority lately?

      Hijuyo: More people have won by doing the extras (hence “increasing your chances”), but plenty of people have been able to win without extras. The exact numbers vary.

    1. and sorry…i forgot to add…my favourite part of the PHN toolbar is the scrolling blue part. i also like the fact that you split it into PHN stuff and official stuff.

      1. Hmm…it does look like a tourist, but what’s with the candy cane? If she was getting a candy cane from a foreign candy shop that makes really good candy canes then I understand. It looks nice, since it really does look like a tourist.

    And another thing, I’ve noticed that (and this may be just my insane comp) when I’m on the Avatar Studio, and I view someone/something (those are some crazy costumes guys!) that has a store item like torch or phantom, any other person after that looks like they’re flaming or invisible. I don’t know if that’s a glitch or whatever, just to let you know.

  99. My costume is the Grim Reaper with added touches. It is slightly transparent to make it look ghostly. It also is on fire with purple flames and a purple glow to make it look evil. I don’t know if you can see but it is giant.
