In other news, Poptropica Legacy—a fan-made unofficial archive of Poptropica that started in late 2025—has been shut down. In a blog post on Legacy’s website, its creator and developer Andrew Wiles (HPuterpop/Messy Sinker) announced that Sandbox Inc, who owns Poptropica, has “demanded the entire project be shut down.” 🙅♂️
Despite this, players can still continue to access Poptropica’s older islands with another archive that’s been around the block: Flashpoint. As the Flashpoint archive operates in a nonprofit manner (unlike Legacy) and has worked fine for years, hopefully this distinction continues to allow this archival project to keep going. 🙏 So if you’re hoping to play the old islands, check out the Poptropica curation on Flashpoint!
