Poptropica’s Fonts

Fonts in Poptropica are fascinatingly fun and fresh. Here we’ll explore the main typefaces Poptropica uses and how you can get them on your computer!

Title font: GhostKid AOE

ghostkid aoe

The title font on Poptropica is called GhostKid AOE, and it is seen mainly in the Poptropica logo. In order to make the logo stand out, Poptropica modified it a little by squishing the letters and adjusting the sloping.

It costs about US$20 and you can buy it for your computer from MyFonts.

Dialogue font: Creative Block BB

creativeblockbb

When characters speak, it’s called dialogue. The font used in Poptropica’s speech bubbles is called Creative Block BB (the ‘BB’ standing for Blambot, the company that produced this font). It’s also found in many other places on Poptropica, even the login homepage. This typeface is completely in uppercase.

You can download this font completely free from Blambot.

Description font: Billy Serif

billyserif

The description font used in Poptropica can be seen mostly on the names and descriptions of the item cards. It’s called Billy Serif — serifs are the tails on letters, but not all typefaces have them (this one does, but the other two mentioned above don’t).

It costs US$38 from SparkyType Fonts.

More fonts

The typefaces listed above are just a few of the main ones you’ll see, but Poptropica uses a lot more other fonts too. Here’s a handful of them (thanks, HPuterpop & Elphangor!):

      1. You need to put the files in your computer’s font book – for further instructions, try searching Google for how to install fonts for your specific computer.

      1. Hi there, I see it’s December 21st. so, How’s the world doing? I know it’s supposedto end. If it’s going out, I votefor goingout zombie style and the creators releasing zomberry for non members now. Honestly, If I could be a zombie, I would (when I get old) then some hero guy would kill me. Awesomest way to go out!

      1. And I am not referring to the thread about Ghost Kid,I refer to this simpleton ‘Christmas Clown’ who does not realise the importance of the page Off Topica. He is a fool and deserves to be shamed.

  1. Hey, um, I downloaded the Free one, and I used it once in my Avatar Studio / Gravatar pic, but then I went to use it again to change a friend’s picture and it won’t open on my laptop anymore. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I’m doing wrong?? It worked once, but now it won’t open. I have Windows Vista (My current theme is Windows Vista Basic)

Slanted Fish: Check your computer’s font list to see if it’s still there, and re-download if it isn’t.

    1. Thanks, but it was my laptop. I re-downloaded it, but it wasn’t working because I had accidentally downloaded it to the wrong file 😛

  2. SD recommended this on my blog, so I thought I could recommend your blog, too. She had an idea of putting the fonts you usually use on the blog (in this situation, the PHB) up on the page, along with Poptropica’s fonts. It’s just a suggestion. ^-^

    1. Thanks for the suggestion, although I think I’ll just stick with Poptropica’s fonts. For anyone’s reference, though, the PHB title uses Ghostkid AOE and the tagline text is usually in Trash Hand or Pupcat (although we may also use other fonts as well). 🙂

    1. Download them to your computer (may or may not be free depending on the font) and make sure they’re saved where your computer stores all your other fonts. When you use programs where you can type and change text, you should see the font(s) you’ve downloaded in the list of font choices.

    1. Some of the fonts listed above just link to images of font names found through searching Poptropica’s files with “JPEXS Flash Decompiler”, but you can try searching the web for a download link. Futura is a popular font that has a number of variations with different weights, including the listed “XBlk BT”, so it might be a bit tricky to find. 😛

  3. Anyone know what the font is for Cabin Fever under the Survival Logo on the Poptropica Tips And Tricks App? Thanks.
