Remember, this is the only place on the PHB where you can talk about anything non-Poptropica (like your pets, favorite music, TV show, etc). Have fun!
I heard HPPuterpop is working on a legacy edition of Poptropica, with the physics of the AS2 version and new tracks similar to the AS3 version. This video, to be exact: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNCvCAqJgvE
Could I get more info on this project and its soundtrack? Was the soundtrack in the video pulled from somewhere or was it an original composition?
Wow! That’s awesome!
Yeah, it seems really cool, but that video is the only thing online about the project. I assume HPuterpop is working on the project, and since he used to work on the PHB, I believe they could easily contact him to get more information. No pressure, of course, but it shouldn’t be too difficult, right?
Yes, Poptropica Legacy is a project that HPuterpop is currently working on — a revival of the original Poptropica with an updated interface and soundtracks from Poptropica’s files, added to islands that previously did not have music. The download isn’t open to everyone yet, but he occasionally shares updates on Discord, including our PHC server and his own Poptropica Legends server.
Well, I don’t recall hearing that specific soundtrack anywhere on the music archive. Do you know where it’s from? Was it supposed to be used on Early Poptropica Island? Because if it was, wouldn’t it have said that on the music archive?
I’m not sure where it’s from, but it was definitely added in for this version of the game. The earliest islands (known as AS2, which include Early Poptropica up to Back Lot Island) did not have music in their original form.
In the Latin Spanish version of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes “Daisy Bo-Peep”, “A Surprise for Minnie”, & “Goofy’s Bird”, the “Hot Dog!” shouts in the Hot Dog Dance are left instrumental, but in the Latin Spanish version of “Donald’s Hiccups”, the entire Hot Dog Dance is left instrumental on Disney+ except for Mickey’s talking lines, but only the first half is left instrumental on TV airings & the Hot Dog Dance is also left instrumental in the Turkish version of “Mickey’s Color Adventure”, except for Pluto’s barking & Mickey’s talking lines.
I’ve been trying to access the dev console from the AS3 version of Poptropica in Flashpoint, but it doesn’t seem to be working right. I’ve tried pressing ~, and that didn’t work, but it did on a save file I used in the past, which I’m not using anymore. You guys are Poptropica experts, so can you help me out?
Sorry, this is outside of our expertise, but I did find a guide on the AS3 dev console here that might be of help? Good luck!
Wait, I noticed I put AS3 instead of AS2. I meant the AS2 version. I haven’t tried the AS3 version, but I don’t want to do that until I get a save file with all the AS2 islands beaten again.
That same page has some info about the AS2 dev console—see if helps! 🙂
I found the link to download Poptropica Legacy Edition!: https://andrewwiles.itch.io/poptropica-legacy
I haven’t had a chance to play it just yet, but I plan to soon!
Just for the record, I didn’t make this project, HPuterpop, a retired writer on the PHB did. All credit goes to him and the rest of the dev team for making this.
Fellas, peak is back on the menu.
BTW, would it be possible to rip the soundtracks, because the one I heard in the video was phenomenal from what I could hear.
If anyone uses this link, feel free to tell me what you think of the game.
Yes, we’ll be sharing more about it here on the PHB soon! In the meantime, feel free to join in on the discussion about Legacy on the PHC, our Discord server. ✨
For the soundtracks, on Windows you can access them via: resources/content/www.poptropica.com/sound/music. For Mac, right click on the app, select “show package contents”, then it’s Contents/Resources/content/www.poptropica.com/game/sound/music (you’ll need to be on version 0.2.0 or beyond).
The game should auto-update upon opening the app, but there’ve been some issues on older versions, so you may need to restart the app once or twice before it fixes itself.
So, apparently, the game’s creator, HPuterpop, is being accused of using artificial intelligence to put the game together. It’s a pretty bold accusation, so I was wondering what you thought of the situation.
Yes, artificial intelligence (AI) was used as a tool in the creation of Legacy, according to HPuterpop, to speed up tedium, but the project also required human touch and was not solely reliant on AI. People may have different opinions on AI, but HP acknowledges that Legacy would not exist without it.
he admitted to using ai himself but i don’t see a problem with that as long as its not used throughout majority of the thing
