“Don’t be an Energy Hog” is a Poptropica MiniQuest that was released around April 22, 2010 to coincide with Earth Day. It is obtainable through the Poptropica Store for free. Once you have the card in your Store items, click on “Visit” to go there.
You’ll be dropped onto the street in front of a house. You can either enter the house to begin the quest, or go to the right and talk to a giant pig! All the pig has to offer is a friendly reminder not to be an energy hog, which in this context is someone who wastes energy by keeping appliances running when they’re not needed – not actual pigs!
Now, let’s begin the quest. Not to worry, it’s pretty simple, and it’ll only take a minute (literally). You’ll receive these instructions upon entering the house:
Basically, what you need to do is conserve electricity by turning off electric appliances such as televisions, computers, and lamps. When you turn something off, the energy hogs inside the house will turn it back on after a short period of time, just because they like wasting electricity.
There are three floors that you need to keep an eye on to make sure as many appliances stay turned off much as possible. Remember to keep running around the house and checking around for appliances that have been turned back on! Why can’t everyone be as good of an environmentalist as you?
If you can keep the amount of electricity used inside the house to an acceptable level (indicated in the bar at the bottom) after 60 seconds, you win the game! You’ll also receive a special prize: the Earth Day Shirt. Congrats, and remember to always reduce, reuse, and recycle! 😀

you can find my Earth Day Shirt
Cool!
This is like an ad which will forever stay. Really. It has the same structure as a playable advertisement. Play some games, win a costume or a power. Nothing special.
Also,I misread ‘ reduce, reuse, and recycle’ as ‘ s educe, reuse, and recycle’.
…awkward.
what is the promo code 4 this???
Slanted Fish: There isn’t one. You can access this mini-quest by getting its card from the Store.
I kinda cheated for this, because I played this right after I completed Super Power Island, and I had the flying thing on. When I was just outside the house, I noticed it was turned off so I turned it on. Then when I entered the house, I could fly around! It really makes the game easier. 😀
You could also use the Arabian night’s flying carpet
Thats what I did
What happened to it?
its not there anymore
or is it? please someone tell me none of the sources say is expired but i cant find it in the store
