Changing Your Name

While Poptropicans nowadays begin their lives with the default name of Hamburger Hamburger, you can officially change your player name. There are two ways and one button: look for the pencil icon next to your name on either the character screen or friends page. Note: Name generator options vary. 

You can also further customize your name with the Custom Name Genie glitching tool! Use the lists below to make one that shows up in-game.

Exceptions

There are some exceptions to Poptropica names that aren’t the normal adjective-noun combination. Besides the default Hamburger Hamburger, there have also been glitched names like Name Unknown, Poptropican Lizard, and Undefined Undefined.

Poptropica Creator accounts also have their own names which will show up in-game. If you are looking for a cool custom name, you can mix any of these first/last names with each other or with those above to create a combination that will show up in common rooms and to your friends!

From the lists above, it is worth noting that the original Creator names are Binary Bard, Black Widow, Captain Crawfish, Comic Kid, Director D, Dr. Hare, Hades, Hazmat Hermit, Master Mime, Medusa, Ned Noodlehead, Shark Guy (formerly Shark Boy), Triton, Vlad the Viking, and Zeus.

Other custom names come from NPCs (non-player characters) that have appeared as ads: Cosmoe and Nikki Maxwell. Some are explained by combinations we know about or that make sense, like (Monster) Carnival, Wimpy (Kid), or Unknown Player. Still others are more mysterious, as we’re not sure where these names came from: Businessman, Chief, Coder, Diver, Hero of, Hook, Hurricane, Jaguar, Jester, Kid, Knight, Laser, Ninja, Ocean, or The. However, these will all appear in-game!

If you come across a modified version of any of these names, the player has probably gotten a custom name through a harmless hack.

  19. i found mine! Slippery Dolphin!!! I love mine. I think it`s perfect and suits me well (my favorite animal is a dolphin and I usually slip easily into anything that I can fix in!). Plus I LOVE water and like to swim. I`m also curious like a dolphin (no matter how hard I try I can`t help that) and a lot of people say I am VERY playful like a dolphin.

Well, I feel like if it’s like 1 pm in America, it’s 1 am in China.But I would understand cause it’s probably summer or winter where you live and you’re not having school tomorrow, either that, or your parents are crazy to let you go to bed late at night. Oh, and can you tell me if comments are translated in different languages for people who live in different countries?

If I lived in China, I would write in Chinese, but luckily, I’m pretty smart for my age, so if I was Chinese I would probably be able to understand english. Why are the times never right?

      2. Yes, but the majority of the PHB’s readers are from the US or another English-speaking region. I live in Hong Kong, but my first language is English.

        The time stamps on the blog comments you see show the time in which the comment was made, but in my time zone (GMT+8).

  27. Hijuyo, I know this is off subject, but I want to know how to get a cool image on the tab that my blog is on so I don’t have to look at that W. Like how you got PHB in a circle on the tab!

    Hijuyo: It’s called a favicon, and on a WordPress blog, you can change this by going to Dashboard > Settings > General. Upload an image file where it says Blog Picture/Icon.

  46. While I was in was in some of the common rooms the past couple of weeks I have seen either two or three players named “Poptropican Lizard” so I am wondering if the first name Poptropican should go on the list or whether this is just a glitch that is affecting some people’s accounts. What do you think?

    1. It sounds like a glitch, because I’ve never encountered the first name Poptropican before, and you say it’s only occurring for Lizards. But maybe I’m wrong.

      Unless you randomised your character with a certain cheat, or customised something that’s not supposed to be customised (like a hacker in the multiplayer rooms), it’s probably a glitch 🙂

  52. My previous accounts all had the “surname” Grape. On my newest account (which is the one I’m using now), I’m Golden Fox. Actually, I did try to find a name with the “surname” Grape, but I couldn’t find it. So when I came to this name, I thought it sounded rather nice, so I took it.

    1. Some people who are good with computer coding can do things like name their Poptropican with any name, but I don’t know how myself, nor do most people, so I’d say don’t worry about it. 😛

      2. At one point all the people with custom names (including the Creators) had the name Poptropican, but then it went back to normal.

    1. I just checked the Avatar Studio, and there was no one named “Evil Eggcup”… but my friend claims to have a prt sc of us playing poptropica in which my name was clearly “Evil Eggcup”. Spooky!

    2. Some names were deleted at one point a few years ago, so names such as those still exist, but are now quite rare.
      Also, Poptropica accounts can be deleted if you don’t log in within a certain time limit, as could be the case with your’s 😉 ~Tikal
