      3. Actually,if there’s one thing I’m not,it’s that.All you fancy folks get is some stupid rearrangement of your ‘desktop’ and a remodel of Safari. And all that iOS 2 had was a new camera and a photo booth. But I am proud and pleased to own such a classic antique,the iPad 1. Once,in Europe,near Sweden and Norway,people thought that the earth was flat,and did not travel too far,because they were scared of falling off it’s edge.But there were three brave explorers- Fenrir,Jonathan,and Zlatos. They thought that the earth was round,and set out to explore it.Their relatives gave them their best wishes,and hoped they came back alive.

    Fenrir steered the ship southeast.One week later,they saw land in the distance.It was the country of China!Jonathan took the honour of being the first to set foot on it.Suddenly the ground under him collapsed,and he horribly fell to his doom and died in a ravine. His two friends tremendously grieved for what seemed like ages.but they went and saw the Chinese Emperor himself!

    The emperor felt sorry for both of them,so he gave them some exclusive treasure from the marvelous country.The two friends’ spirits lifted up a little,but not completely.They went back to their ship and started to steer it. Zlatos steered it North west,and went to where Seattle would be in a few centuries!Unfortunately,Red Indians lived there,and they didn’t appreciate travelers invading their land.

    They started chasing the duo.Fenrir was too slow,and was killed by them. Zlatos felt even more grieved.How could this have been?He sailed off in a direction no one has found till today,and he landed in Rome!Now,if you may know,Rome is the capital of Italy,and was also a home of Italian food.In one hour,he was taking a tourist trip through the ancient Parthenon,after eating a buffet of pizza (too much anchovies) ,pasta,(too much veggies) and lasagne (too much perfection).

    He had a successful trip through the city and soon went back on his ship.He was ready to go back home and scoff in his favourite manner at his friends and relatives that there was no such thing as the edge of the earth.He had learnt that it was round!He was so high and mighty looking to himself.The only problem was,he didn’t get to tell them that.

    His ship fell off the edge of the earth.

  24. House of Hades Review
    I have been waiting a long time for this, ever since I finished the book the day it came out. So, here it is, guys:
    The Seven
    Percy Jackson – 8.5/10. To be honest, I didn’t think he had too much big of a role, although he’s still great and all, especially when he said that the Phlegethon sounded like a place for hacking spitballs or whatever, and Annabeth said she would be falling down the cliff with a smile on her face.  I wish he could have had more screen time though, and I also like how he tries to repent for Bob and at least thinks about Calypso (I’ll get to them later).
    Annabeth Chase-9/10. Slightly better than Percy, and is still great as ever, that too realizing how to break Damasen’s fate. I also like how she used Nyx and her children as complete idiots. She’s even smarter for figuring out how to send a message to Camp Half-Blood. I hope Percy’s mother received it! Please, Uncle Rick? 
    Jason Grace– 8/10. His personality is expanding even more, and it’s good to have his POV for a change. I like how he tries to help Nico. And I think what Notus said to him signifies that he is storm – or fire- in the Prophecy of Seven. Not much else to say for him here.
    Piper McLean- 8.5/10. I think Piper was better in this book, even more than Jason, slightly like how Annabeth is better than Percy. I frankly have no hate for her, unlike many others, whom I have thought do not give her a single chance. I like how she tries to prove she’s not COMPLETELY worthless, and succeeds at it. I wonder what happened to Khione, though.
    Leo Valdez- 9.5/10- Possibly the best character in the book, although Bob and Small Bob come really close to his rank, but don’t defeat him there, though. I love how he used the Boloney Dwarfs or whatever to raid the Romans and all that stuff. He lost ½ of a mark because of his obsession with Calypso. I mean, seriously, he made an oath that is 95% impossible for some immortal girl who doesn’t like him?!
    Frank Zhang- 7/10- I think he’s okay. I do not have much to say for him here, although that was cool what he did with legions of the undead in the House of Hades and that blessing of Mars. And speaking of Mars, what happened to him back there in Venice? Why did he and Ares scream “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”?
    Hazel Levesque-7.5/10. The mist thing was unexpected. I like how she saw her father again finally after 70 years. I also like how she and Piper cooperated against Clytius. The way she handled Pasiphae and Sciron was Annabeth-like. Not much to say here also.
    Overall of the Seven: 8/10.
    Secondary Characters
    Nico di Angelo- 8/10. Honestly, I think he had a rough life, but he isn’t allowing anyone to be nice to him. Sometimes she sounds like his father, laughing humourlessly and all. He doesn’t want Jason to console him. I feel like Annabeth. I’ll never understand him. It was nice for him to visit Bob though. I’m not going to talk about his ‘secret’, since it sparks controversy the moment it’s mentioned. But here is what Rick has to say about this:
    One of the most important reasons I became a teacher was to advocate for marginalized children – those who are bullied or misunderstood, those who feel lost and alone. As a middle school student myself, I certainly felt that anguish. As a middle school teacher, it was critical to me that all my students saw my classroom as a safe, supportive environment where they could be honored for who they were and express themselves without fear.
    I’ve taken the same approach with my writing. It’s essential to me that young readers find a variety of relatable, positive role models in my books. Every child can be a hero. No child should be shamed or shunned for being different.
    Nico’s sexual orientation became clear to me the longer I wrote about his character. It was not something I planned. I had no agenda. But when I realized this was a major part of his life experience and the reason for so many of his difficulties with the other characters, it would have been a disservice to his character, the plot of the books, and all my readers simply to sweep the issue under the rug and pretend it didn’t exist. Turning a blind eye to children’s needs is never an acceptable answer.
    I’ve been lucky enough to teach all sorts of students – fifth grade to twelfth grade, rich and poor, from numerous ethnic backgrounds, with diverse religious traditions and a variety of learning differences. I’ve also taught gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students. Some self-identified as early as elementary school. Some came to terms with their sexual orientation later in high school. Most had a hard time during the middle grades, which are tough years for any child. All my middle school students enriched my classroom. They made me a better teacher and a better writer for children, and they all deserve my support.
    I am committed to writing appropriate books for the middle grades. This means no bad language, no gratuitous or explicit violence, and no sexual content beyond what you might find in a PG-rated movie – expressions of who likes whom, holding hands, and perhaps the occasional kiss. The idea that we should treat sexual orientation itself as an adults-only topic, however, is absurd. Non-heterosexual children exist. To pretend they do not, to fail to recognize that they have needs for support and validation like any child, would be bad teaching, bad writing, and bad citizenship.
    Having said that, a good book, like a good classroom, should raise questions, not insist on a particular set of answers. It certainly should not ignore difficult questions. Whatever a family’s moral and religious beliefs on the topic of sexual orientation, I hope The House of Hades will provide an opportunity for parents to talk to their kids about what they believe, and why they believe it. Most importantly, I hope the story continues to entertain and keeps kids reading!

    Coach Gleeson Hedge- 8.5/10. He gets more character development here. It was nice of him to come aboard the Argo II even though he was a newlywed. I wish I heard his version of Piper fighting the Boreads (Piper being a kung-fu assassin and a lot more Boreads there). >:)
    Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano- 8/10. I feel sorry for her. RIP Scipio. Wish Jason talked to her. And remember in MoA Annabeth thought they were never going to agree again? Well, they did here, on the fact that without Annabeth, Percy couldn’t find his way out of a paper bag. (I verify this statement to be correct.) I also love how trivial Grover is, noticing that her initials are ‘R.A.R.A’.
    Bob- 9.3/10. Best character ever. Has a good cat. :3 ‘Nuff said.
    Small Bob- 9.4/10. BEST CHARACTER EVER. HE’S CUTE AND BITES PEOPLE’S ARMS OFF. NO ONE ONLY LEO CAN BEAT HIM OKAY
    Gods- 7/10. Cupid’s a jerk, Nyx was stupid, wind gods and Hecate didn’t get too big roles, Triptolemus was too harsh, Khione fell for Piper’s ploy too easily and Tartarus didn’t try hard enough. I can’t believe I’m even giving them a 7, but that’s probably because of immature war gods fighting in Frank’s head and Pluto reappearing to his daughter.
    Monsters- 5/10. I think they lost a lot of marks because they were dumb. I really like how the arai gave us more memories of the good old days. But really, I thought Calypso was more mature than that to be jealous. I mean, PUH-LEAZE, peeps! She should know better, right?
    Calypso- 2/10. Don’t argue with me. I think I was too generous on her. If you read the book, then you will find out that she has been reduced from a kind daughter of the Titans to some foolish 15 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Okay so she’s mad at the gods for not freeing her that’s fine. But she doesn’t have any specific reason for hating Leo.
    Sure he crashed part of her island but despite repairing it, she still maintains a grudge. One time Leo made a funny joke and Calypso laughed, but she tried to convince herself that Leo is not funny. She seriously is annoying. I’ve never hated Piper, but this must be what her haters thought about her- she’s constantly whining. I like what she did to Leo just before he left though.
    That’s probably the only good thing she did in the book. It’s like as if Rick made her like this just so that she could be perfect for Leo. Not everyone needs a love interest, you know. Personally, Calypso was much better in The Battle of the Labyrinth.
    Damasen- 6/10. I feel sorry for him, but the only reason I reduced marks was because his role was smaller than Calypso in a way.
    Overall of Secondary Characters: 7/10.
    Overall of Book
    8.3/10. A good read, with many references to Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Only downsides were Cupid, the shortened role of Damasen, the idiocy of Calypso and how quick and easy the monsters and giants get killed.

  27. We’re watching Crash Course in class at my school, and some of them are inappropriate for little kids….. Anyway, has anyone seen Mankind: the History of All of Us episodes? It’s a great show that’s fun to watch, and very educational. I also like How the States got their Shapes. I LOVE American Pickers and Pawn Stars, too.

    Well, my fave color is blue, and if i have to describe it to a blind person, i’d say it is the color of the skies, water, and it is a color of calmness, peace, and it is soothing. It could also sometimes stand for sadness or depression.

    4. I don’t think I can play Poptropica anymore. After my computer got repaired from some virus attack, a lot of data got deleted while it was being fixed. As of right now, my computer currently doesn’t have and Adobe Flash Player, and you need it to play Poptropica and watch videos on Youtube. But my dad doesn’t want to download it because he’s afraid it will import a virus into the system. There are a lot of people who say that Adobe is a trusted program and won’t import viruses, but I ain’t taking any chances, and my dad would be pretty mad at me for downloading something without his permission.

        Mine is when me and about 15 other families went to a church camp in far away Georgia. Me and my best friend went, and we pulled the best prank ever. There were about 6 teenage girls staying in one cabin that was like a mile away from everybody else’s. It was 9:00 PM and everybody was still hanging out and talking at the main room. We crept out and ran to the girl’s cabin. I flipped the breakers off and we crept around to the back. They came soon and flipped the light switch. The light didn’t turn on and a alarm went off!! The girls freaked. They were screaming and one girl was actually praying. After a while they stopped and went back to get somebody. We ran back inside and flipped the breakers back on. They came back with a pastor and he turned on the light. The girls were like, NO WAY!!!!

      8. And then the pastor heard one of us laughing behind the cabin and he quietly crept out. I saw somebody two inches behind me and jerked my arm up because I was scared. I hit the pastor in the jaw!!! He was 63 years old!!!

      9. At a public pool, I was about to take a high dive when a big guy told me to move. I looked down from the high diving board. I stepped back until I hit that guy. Then he pushed me and I fell in the pool.

    2. One time I went up to the mountains with some friends of mine in one cabin and some family friends with two brothers, one my age and one my little sister’s age, and a sister 3 years older than me. One night we heard banging on our cabin wall and we thought it was the boys trying to freak us out so we wanted to get back at them. The next night when we were all eating s’mores, we put hot sauce in the boys’ s’mores. Their sister and mom were in on it too. They didn’t want to eat the s’mores because they thought they tasted funny and we were all telling them just to eat it already and their sister said, “It tastes fine, let me show you!” and she took a huge bite. Needless to say, it was not funny to her but hilarious to the rest of us. Although it didn’t go as planed, it was still a great prank.

    1. hmm………. some are a bit too personal. Once I was in London and I thought I saw Harry Styles. (I love one direction!) There were a lot of people around him. I ran up to him screaming and asked for a picture and an autograph and he was really freaked out but he still gave me his autograph. When I read the autograph I realised that I had seriously embarrassed myself!

      I was at school one day and was eating lunch outside with my friends and after lunch heaps of people were laughing at me and then at the end of the day my best friend told me that I had bird poo on the back of my pants so it must of looked like I had pooed myself!
