2016 PHB Readers’ Survey Analysis – Part 2

What types of new or returning content would you like to see from us in the future?

These questions are the real fun sections. This section (and the following section) are write-in questions. I will be picking out my favorite from each section and either replying to or answering them. If I didn’t answer you’re question, I either missed it or I answered it in someone else’s comment. But, I do want to say thanks to everyone’s comment, and if I missed yours, feel free to comment them. So, without further ado, here’s the new and/or returning content the survey participants want to see:

Nothing really, tbh- maybe having other Poptropican’s An Open Letter to Poptropica featured on the PHB? That’d be cool, but other than that, I’m perfectly content with the PHB.

Well, that’s not really nothing. 😛 But, that’s definitely an interesting idea, worth considering. *thumbs up*

A few more posts on Realms. It would really encourage people to use this tool,and you could do a few weekly shout outs as well,even if it’s horribly broken in some areas.

You know, you’ve got a point there. Not much on Realms is posted on the PHB (or even the Creators’ Blog). Perhaps, we could do another Realms contest?

An art segment, or new authors. New stories and a fan art contest!!!

The Popcorn magazine contains quite a bit featured art from the community and so does the We-Love-Poptropica DeviantArt group, if you want to check those out. Although, we may just have a new art segment idea that could become reality. I’ll discuss new authors at the bottom of this question section. Stories are also featured in the Popcorn magazine. But, if you’re looking for something by the PHB team, look out for the Giant Hawk Adventures, which will be beginning this spring (at least, that’s the plan). And, we definitely could do a fan art contest soon.

Firstly, shots fired! Secondly, us authors have begun planning for this year’s April Fool’s prank, and we’ve got some pretty cool ideas.

More events. Theories.

Events will definitely be happening, especially in the party department. And Popspiracy will likely have more episodes released.

I would like to see more Popspiracies and theories. I have noticed that some authors post more often than others, and I’d like to see more posts from authors who don’t post as often.

As just mentioned, we’ll probably get some more posts for Popspiracy. When it comes to authors posting, usually whoever is free posts at the time. So, the more busy authors don’t post as often, but that’s all up to them. You see me posting a lot since I have a recurring weekly series. So, maybe that means other authors should start some series?

More hidden surprises

Interesting request, but that may just happen.

I’d definitely like more user-interactive stuff. For example, I love how MPIP is now open to not only authors, but viewers.

Me too! 😀 The community MPIPs are super fun to read and really intriguing. Really cool to see everyone’s place in Poptropica.

I would like more specials like the Christmas one.

Well, if you haven’t seen it, Blake announced a Valentine’s special! I actually showed him this comment, and he decided he wanted to make more. If you like his writing, you should also check out his Stupid Ninjas series.

I absolutely LOVE the My Place In Poptropica Series. I also like the mini pranks with Gamer Guy 🙂

The MPIPs are super awesome! Not sure if we’ve done Gamer Guy pranks in a while, but we do have the April Fool’s pranks annually.

voice & walkthroughs would be nice

Well, PHB author Brave Tomato does her Revisiting the Islands (“Visiting the Islands” for new islands) series on her YouTube channel. Although, this is more like a playthrough, where she tries to figure the island out. Video walkthroughs could be something we do down the road, but we’ll see.

MORE JOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And more detailed walkthroughs .

I can’t speak for all the authors, but I’ll try to sneak in some more jokes. I’ll see if we can get more details into our walkthroughs, since it seems that may help players more.

More content on the costumes page would be nice. 🙂

Contests,Popcorn and Other events

I can assure you that all of the above will be happening in the future.

Stories of life in Poptropica is always neat. Maybe try making posters of key Poptropica events in the game and try to sell them. Keep up with the conspiracies. 🙂

I mentioned this above, but definitely tune into the Giant Hawk Adventures, if you like Poptropica fan stories. Also, look out for updates of Orb Legend, a Poptropica fan-game headed by PHB author HPuterpop.

The posters are interesting ideas, maybe we could talk with some of the awesome artists on DeviantArt for that.

And, as mentioned, Popspiracy will likely continue with more episodes.

I would love to see more on Orb Legend. It sounds very interesting, but I would love to know more.

Well, in case you missed it, we posted an update for Orb Legend (following the ending of survey). Aside from that, I’m not sure how much Andrew would allow me to leak, but we will be releasing a teaser trailer soon, which is super exciting!

Speaking of…

Maybe some games the PHB actually makes. That would be cool.

I think I’ve mentioned Orb Legend a few times now, but it is a game created by PHB author HPuterpop. Me and Giant Hawk are also helping out with development.

The story of the Poptropican villans.

Hmm, that could make for a cool fanfic idea. Maybe this one will interest you?

I think everything is going great, and it’s all there, but I think that maybe the Afternoon at Queequegs isn’t too eye catching.

Thanks! 😀 Afternoon at Queequeg’s is simply a pre-cursor to the GHA, and it becomes more interesting the more you know about the overall story, at least in my opinion. Definitely tune in for the GHA when it releases, it’s gonna be awesome.

For fanart and fanfiction, check out the Popcorn magazine and We-Love-Poptropica DeviantArt group. As for Poptropican Portraits, you’d have to ask HPuterpop, but maybe he’ll do it again.

More videos on the YouTube Channel. Not like walkthroughs, but just videos for fun.

We’ll see about more videos. I know that videos generally take some time to create, so I’m not sure if we can do more videos (especially on a regular basis). If you guys want to see more livestreams, I think that could be something we do more of, but we’d need some sort of topic/reason to discuss.

More My Place in Poptropica’s, Popspiracies and of course, the Giant Hawk Adventures.

I’ve discuss all three of these in previous answers. But, I wanted to say that Joshua saw this and wanted to let you know he’s glad for all of the excitement.

I’m sure we’ll be doing more contests. I can’t promise more memberships, but it’s definitely possible. Referring to your second part there, HPuterpop actually had a series on the PHB called Poptropican Portraits, where he did just that. We’ve had a request already for it, so maybe HP will do it.

I would love it if an “Island Suggestions” category was added to the Popcorn like it was in Poptropica 911. If it already has been added, well, blame me for not keeping up with current events. =P

Hmm well, I like that idea. I think that would be up to the people who send in art, stories, etc. in for Popcorn. If you guys want to see that in Popcorn, then send in your ideas! 😀

I like many things involving art and fiction, which is probably why I find Popspiracies so interesting and look forward to PMFM and Popcorn (yes this is art brah). I also take a lot of time to appreciate the graphics and stuff that you guys do (headers, banners, the like). I’m looking forward to the GHA too :)) What I’d love to see is a continuation or addition of imaginative stuff for imaginative Poptropicans much like myself! xD

Really glad you enjoy all the art and fiction, considering we’ve been starting to have a lot more of that on the PHB and in the community. Sometimes those take a while to create, and I’m speaking from experience here. 😛 The GHA is gonna be super awesome, glad to hear about your excitement.

I’d love to see more Popspiracys and The Missing Links!

I discussed the Popspiracys already, but let me talk about the Missing Links a little. I’ve talked with Andrew about it, and he’s not sure if he wants to do anymore, but he could reconsider. We’ll see.

Polls… New bloggers…More stuff like the Aprils fool trick, except saying it isn’t a trick… Stories based off internet experience… Anything that reminds me of my past… *sigh..*

Polls are an interesting request, but definitely something that could be interesting. (As I’ve mentioned, I’ll discuss new bloggers at the bottom of this question section.) So, you just want some weird takeover to permanently occur? 😛 I’ll tell you, there is a somewhat internet-based experience story in early development. Nostalgia may just show up on the PHB soon. 😉

If you guys could somehow visit us in real life.

Well, if you recall not too long ago, HP put up a short survey about this same idea. We’d really love to see it happening at some point, but it’s a big thing to do just one, let alone multiple. As mentioned, in that survey post, the first one of these would likely be in North Carolina. This is because 4 authors are close to the area, so it would make it much easier for us to make it. But, we can’t make promises about it right now, as much as we’d love to do it.

Theories about the new islands and Poptropican Meme Face Mondays.

I’m sure we’ll continue to theorize for new islands, and thank you for the PMFM praise. 😛

More Cool Stuff!?

Hmm, we could try to make some more “Cool Stuff” pages. We recently added a few, and we’re open to more ideas! If anyone has good ideas, I’d definitely like to hear any of them.

New island walkthroughs will definitely continue when new islands release. Blog Updates definitely will also come when needed. New Things are always stirring through the minds of each of us authors, so those are always a must.

As the crowned meme king, I will make sure that memes are here on the PHB for as long as I am in my power of meme-dom. Forever Meme!

In this separate section for this question, I am going to reply to (at least what I see) are the most frequent questions.

One thing multiple survey participants mentioned for this question was authors on the PHB. This is something that all 9 of us current authors have been discussing a bit. The overall consensus is that we have a lot of authors already, and we really can’t add too many more (if any). We’ve set the max (at least right now) at 10, so maybe we’ll see another author, but that’s really something that us authors have to discuss more in depth.

There’s been multiple people talking about ASG and glitching suggestions. I don’t know much about all of that, but I’ll definitely talk with the “experts” about that.

Another fairly popular “category” of suggestions was questions that are really intended more for the Creators. So, if you’re reading, Creators (likely Jess), I’ll give you a link to the responses, if you’d like to look through them all. (You can email me, if that works best: [email protected])

The final (and probably most) recurring category of suggestions was nothing. 😛 A lot of people said things like “You’re great the way you are, keep being awesome.” That’s really kind of you guys, so thanks. 😀

Leave us any other feedback (Complaints, praise, criticisms, thanks, questions, etc.)

Now onto the final question! People could say whatever they had liked for this question, and we got a lot of really nice comments. Let’s get onto them, though. And, because you guys are so awesome, I’m going to respond (no matter how short my response) to every one! 😀 (This may be a bad idea, considering I’m already late on releasing this, but, eh, I’m doing it anyways.)

Can you get Credits from places other than Islands? If so, how do you get Credits other than Islands?

I don’t believe so. At one point, and I don’t know if they do this anymore, you could buy credits with actual money. Besides that, the current only way I know to get credits is playing islands. If you have membership, however, there’s no need for credits, because you can have everything in the store. Poptropica has also given away credits with promo codes before, but there aren’t any codes right now that haven’t already expired.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE PHB!!!!!! Seriously, keep up the great work! I check the PHB at least twice daily and have recommended it to all of my closest friends who play Poptropica (4 people). I also love attending the PHB multiverse parties. I once had eight tabs open on my laptop with each party room and one with the PHC, I was talking to one of my Poptropica playing friends on the phone, and FaceTime-ing my cousin who is also on Poptropica. Um, where are the other PHB members? Some that I just about never see is Blake and Spotted Dragon. Did they leave, or disappear or something?

All of the authors are still here. Posting is based on whoever has the time to post when we learn of new news, updates, etc. Some of the authors are more busy then others. A lot of us are homeschooled, as well, so we can posting during school hours. SD isn’t, so she may not get the chance to post. Another thing, too, is that we haven’t gotten a whole lot of news stuff to post about, so you see a lot of recurring series posts like PMFM or MPIP.

Hope that answers that question. 😀

I don’t know them personally, but I’ve talked with some of them on occasion. Jessica is their “community outreach person” and she makes the occasional comment here and heads Poptropica’s social media, which is pretty cool.
